Catfish Bait

Get a suitable leakproof jar and add the following:
3/8 pint of chopped livers
3/8 pint of chicken parts {entrails}
3/4 pint of "moldy" cheese
Mix and mash up the stinky concoction thoroughly with a beater. then add enough peanut butter to make the mix stick together. Thicken the mixture with a suitable amount of flour: For good measures, add one or two raw eggs and stir. To "age" the ingredients, let the bait sit in the sun for a couple of hours, and you're to go. Remember the stronger the smell, the more productive the bait is. Vary components until you find the best "flavor" for your catfish.

Sponge Bait

Ingredients:
2 Beef or Pork Kidneys
1 to 1 1/2 Lbs. Beef or Pork Liver
1/2 pound fish (the minnows that were left over are OK or dinky brim, shad, etc.)
1/4 pound shrimp (optional)
3 oz. Anise Seeds
3 Eggs
Dried Cheese (Romano or Parmesean)
Milk

Directions:
In a blender, puree the kidneys, liver, fish, shrimp, eggs and anise seeds. Pour into a jar large enough to hold about half again as much. Add dried cheese to thicken. Start with about three or four big spoonfuls, stir it in real good and wait about ten minutes. This lets the bait get absorbed by the cheese. You want to get a consistency that will have enough liquid to soak into the sponge with a ball of goo the sticks to the sponge and helps spread the scent. If you accidentally add too much cheese, add some milk. Anytime any cheese goes bad, crumble it up and add it. The stronger the cheese the better. This bait will, frankly, STINK BIG TIME !! But it catches cats big time too.

The liver boilie mix

This is one of my own mixtures, the result of a lot of field testing. It has proved VERY effective

*10 oz Semolina
*2 oz Soya flour
*4 oz Liver (liquidised)
*1 tbl sp Garlic powder (not salt)
*3 tbl sp Clear honey
*4-6 lge Eggs
*Your own flavour,colour or enhancer

Method

Liquidise the liver in an electric blender. Gently fold in the eggs, garlic powder and honey. You can add colouring, flavouring or enhancers at this point if required. Pour the mixture into a large mixing bowl. Mix the dry ingredients in a seperate bowl and add to the liver mixture a little at a time until you have a stiff paste. Add more egg or semolina to get the right consistancy. Roll the mix into balls and boil for 2-6 minutes (the longer they are boiled, the harder the baits will be).

Lay the baits out on old towels or paper and dry for a least 6 hrs.
